Arizona Cousins

My cousins from Arizona (all of them!) came to visit the first week of October. It was the first trip to Virginia for several of them, so we tried to cram in as much site-seeing as possible in a week. Between all the Dooley's pitching in, they were able to visit the Peaks of Otter, Northern Virginia and DC (huge thanks to Mrs. Rowlands), Smith Mountain Lake, Oriskany (for the guys) and Lexington (for the girls) and Appomattox. It was great to have them all, and hopefully they'll come back soon! I'll post pictures soon.

Outer Banks 2008

Another great year at the beach, although we had a Lin-enforced evacuation due to a tropical storm that came through--he made us leave two days early. We had a great time though, and enjoyed seafood, shopping, pastries from The Orange Blossom, steamer pots, and Yappy Hour at the Outer Barks.

Chimney Rock

Last weekend, Lindsay, Randy, Lin and I went to Asheville for a little weekend getaway to celebrate my 50th (ugh!) birthday. We had a great time and a lovely birthday dinner at Carmel's in downtown Asheville. Happy Birthday to me!

Fiddlefest!

This past weekend, Lin and I went to Fiddlefest on Friday and Saturday nights. Ralph Stanley played Friday night and is still amazing at 82-years old. The Grascals burned it up on Saturday night...Lin INSISTED that I have my picture taken with the band...how embarrassing, especially when Lin was trying to take the picture and the memory was full on the camera. Can't wait until next year!

Springtime in Villamont

hey, the Beale Garden has nothing on me! Here are some pics taken along Day Creek in the National Forest behind my house, and some pics of my own yard.

Graduations!

Congratulations to Tim (W&L Law) and Loren (Bridgewater)...the latest Dooley graduates!

In the last picture, Tim is the
one standing in front of the third column.

Miatas at Myrtle Beach

Last weekend, John and Becky and Lin and I went to the annual Miatas at Myrtle Beach. We had a great time doing the Poker Run, the putt-putt tournament, and eating way too much (yummy hushpuppies and seafood at Nance's at Murrell's Inlet). We also met up with Tim and Annette and their kids on Friday night and ate at Islamorado with them. A great time and fun to ride around with tops down since it's still too cold here to do that yet!

Arizona

In February, daddy and I went on a trip to Arizona to visit my cousin and his family. We had a great time seeing everyone (especially new little Jaxson) and getting to see that part of the country. We are hopeful that they are all going to come to Virginia in the fall. These pictures were taken in the arboretum. The view of Picket Post House is also from the arboretum, looking back at the house.

I was so excited to see all the cacti; quite a different sight from all the pine trees in Virginia!
